Utility
Manage roles and channels by command, with precise rules for every single action.
In the panel under: Moderation, Utility
With /utility role and /utility channel, members create, give and delete roles and channels right in Discord. In the panel you decide for each action separately who can use it, which roles and channels it can touch, which permissions a new role can get, and how often per hour.
Setup
Enable the module
Optional: choose a log channel
Every action is logged there along with the member who ran it.
Turn on actions
Under Roles and Channels, enable the actions you want and set for each one who can use it and what it applies to.
Save
The
/utilitycommand then shows up in Discord, with exactly the actions you enabled.

Rules per action
Who can use it
| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Who may use it | Manage Roles permission or Manage Channels permission (the Discord permission), Only these roles or Permission or roles |
| Allowed roles | Members with one of these roles can use the action |
| Excluded roles | Members with one of these roles can never use it, not even with the permission |
| Uses per member and hour | After that, it's blocked for an hour. The owner has no limit |
Owners and administrators can always use every enabled action.
Which roles
Applies to deleting, giving, taking and editing roles.
| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Which roles | Below the member: any role below their highest role whose permissions they have themselves. Fixed list: only the roles you pick |
| Released roles | The list for Fixed list mode |
| Protected roles | Can never be touched through /utility |
Regardless of that, this always applies: the role must be below the member's highest role and below the bot's role, and @everyone as well as integration roles (for example other bots') are excluded.
Permissions for new roles
Applies to creating and editing roles. Under Permissions a role may get, you check which permissions are possible at all. After the command, the member picks from them in a select menu and is only offered the ones they have themselves. If nothing is checked, roles are created without permissions.
Administrator, Manage Server, Manage Roles, Manage Channels, Manage Webhooks, Ban and Kick can never be given this way.
When editing, the bot only changes the offered permissions, and all other permissions of the role stay as they are.
Which channels
Applies to the channel actions.
| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Allowed categories | Only channels in these categories. Empty means everywhere. When creating, one of these categories then has to be chosen |
| Protected channels | Can never be changed or deleted through /utility |
| Channel types | When creating: text, voice, announcement, stage, forum |
The log channel, the rules channel and the channels for community updates and safety notifications are always protected.
Safety
- Deleting needs a confirmation click. On the click, the bot checks all the rules once more.
- Anti-Nuke: Whatever a member deletes through
/utilitycounts for Anti-Nuke as an action by that member, not the bot. Someone who mass-deletes through the command gets stopped just like when deleting by hand. - Audit log: Discord shows the bot as the one who did it, and the reason always includes the member and the command.
- No mentions: Replies and logs don't ping anyone.
