Anti Ghost Ping

Exposes it when someone pings you and deletes the message right away.

In the panel under: Moderation, Anti Ghost Ping

A ghost ping is when someone mentions you, a role or @everyone and deletes the message right away. You get the notification but find nothing. It's a popular provocation and otherwise hard to prove.

This module makes it visible.

How it works

The bot remembers messages with a mention. If one of them is deleted within 5 seconds of being sent, it counts as a ghost ping and is reported.

Where it's reported

The report always appears in the channel where the ghost ping happened. That's the point: the person who was pinged should see what happened.

You can also set a Log Channel for your team. The report there includes the original message.

Settings

Setting Meaning
Detect User Mentions Reports deleted messages that mentioned a specific member
Detect Role Mentions The same for roles
Detect @everyone / @here The same for mass mentions
Also Show in Channel Notice Shows the text of the deleted message in the public report too
Whitelisted Roles Members with one of these roles never trigger a report
Log Channel Optional team log
Embed Color Accent color of the report

Put your moderation roles on the whitelist. A moderator who deletes a message with a mention is just doing their job.
