Role DM
Automatically send a DM when someone gets or loses a role.
In the panel under: Moderation, Role DM
For each role, you set which private message a member gets when they receive the role, and which one when they lose it again. The two are independent of each other.
Typical cases: a welcome with a task description when someone joins the team. Or an explanation when a time-limited rank has expired.
Create a rule
Enable the module
Add a rule and choose a role
Turn on DM on role add
Then design the message in the Message Builder.
Optional: DM on role remove
The same for the opposite case.

You can also turn on just one of the two directions.
Cooldown
So that a member doesn't get a new DM on every role change, each rule has a DM Cooldown: 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, 1 week or 30 days. Within that time the DM goes out at most once per direction, no matter how often the role is given or taken away.
| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| DM Cooldown | Applies to all members for whom no role exception matches |
| Different cooldown per role | Members with one of these roles get their own cooldown, for example new members every 6 hours and regulars every 12 hours. Up to 10 roles per rule |
| Use the longest cooldown | If a member has several of these roles, the highest role normally counts. With this switch, the longest of their cooldowns applies instead |
