Invite the bot
Bring the AlphaCloud bot to your server and give it the right permissions.
Requirements
You need the Manage Server permission on the Discord server. Without it, Discord won't even show you the server when you invite the bot, and the web panel won't let you in later either.
Step by step
Open the invite link
Open the invite link. Discord asks you which server the bot should join.
Pick your server
Choose your server from the list. Only servers where you have Manage Server show up.
Confirm the permissions
Leave the suggested permissions checked and confirm. Why the bot is recommended Administrator is explained further down.
Open the panel
Go to panel.alphacloud.bot and log in with the same Discord account. Your server now shows up in the server list.
Move the role up
In your server settings under Roles, drag the bot's role as high as you can. This is the most common reason something doesn't work later.
Which permissions the bot needs
Discord only lets a bot do what its role allows. AlphaCloud covers very different tasks, so Administrator is the recommended setting: every module works right away and you never have to guess which permission is missing.
If you prefer to grant them one by one, these are the permissions the modules actually need:
| Permission | What for |
|---|---|
| Manage Roles | Auto-Role, Reaction Roles, Verification, Temporary Roles, level rewards, Team Updates |
| Manage Channels | Tickets, Temp Voice, Server Stats, Sort Support |
| Kick and Ban Members | Moderation, AutoMod, Anti-Nuke, Account Age, Honeypot |
| Timeout Members | Moderation, AutoMod |
| Move Members | AFK Room, Support Call, Sort Support |
| Manage Messages | AutoMod, Sticky Message, Starboard, Anti Ghost Ping |
| Send Messages and Embed Links | practically every module |
| Read Message History | Tickets, Logging, Starboard, AI Chat |
| Manage Nicknames | Role Names, Team Updates |
| Manage Server | Logging, Server Backup, Anti-Nuke |
| View Audit Log | Logging, Anti-Nuke |
| Add Reactions | Reaction Roles, Starboard |
Privileged intents
Some modules need information that Discord only hands out separately. This is already set up for the official AlphaCloud bot, so you don't have to do anything. For your understanding:
- Server Members is needed for joins, leaves, Auto-Role, Level System and team lists.
- Message Content is needed for AutoMod, Auto Responder, AI Chat, Starboard and Minigames.
