Role Names

Automatically add a prefix to nicknames when someone gets a specific role.

In the panel under: Moderation, Role Names

When someone gets a specific role, the bot automatically puts a prefix in front of their nickname, for example [ADMIN] Maria. If they lose the role, the prefix disappears again. That way your team is instantly recognizable in every member list, without anyone maintaining names by hand.

Setup

  1. Enable the module

  2. Set the name display

    See below.

  3. Add a rule

Pick a role, enter a prefix, for example [ADMIN], and save.

  4. Check the order

With several rules, the order decides, see Priority.

Name Display

Decides which name comes after the prefix:

Option Effect
Display Name Keeps the current server nickname
Username Always resets it to the Discord username

Priority with several rules

If a member has several roles with rules, the rule that's higher up in the panel wins. The order of the roles in Discord doesn't matter here.

You move rules with the arrows, and each one shows its priority. So sort the highest rank to the top, otherwise your administrator ends up with the prefix for supporters.

Required permissions

Manage Nicknames.

Discord limits nicknames to 32 characters. A long prefix plus a long name gets cut off, so keep the prefixes short.
