AlphaCloud Now Speaks Seven Languages, Including the Panel

The bot has answered in seven languages for a while. If you ran your server in French or Turkish, you got commands, logs and DMs in your language. But the moment you opened the panel to set up that very bot, everything was German or English. That gap is closed now.

What is new

The web panel and the website now come in the same seven languages as the bot:

• French
• Spanish
• Dutch
• Turkish
• Arabic

In the panel the choice sits behind the globe icon, both on the server list and at the bottom of every server page. It is stored in your account, so you get it on every device you sign in on.

On the website every language now has its own addresses, for example alphacloud.bot/fr or alphacloud.bot/es/pricing. That sounds like a detail, but it is the real reason for the rebuild: before, the language lived only in a cookie. Search engines crawl without cookies, so until recently Google had only ever seen the English version of our website, even though almost all of our visitors come from German speaking countries.

What deliberately stays German and English

The legal texts. Terms, privacy policy, imprint and withdrawal policy are binding only in German and English. An Arabic translation that none of us can check legally would be worse than none: in a dispute, what counts is what it says. If you picked another language, you land on the English version.

The blog. We keep writing articles in German and English. This one is the exception, because it is written for exactly the readers who are new here now.

Individual strings. Where a translation is still missing, you see the English text instead of an empty space. If you spot one of those, or a translation that reads awkwardly, we are happy about a report on bugs.alphacloud.bot.

The bot's language

Which language the bot speaks on your server is separate from all this. You set it in the panel under Setup, and it applies to everyone on the server. The panel language, on the other hand, is your personal setting: a team can use the panel in five different languages while the bot speaks German to the whole server.
