Web v2: A New Website, a New Panel and a Small Mascot

We rebuilt everything you see of AlphaCloud in the browser: the website, the panel, Bugs, Ideas, Appeals and Transcripts. With a light and a dark mode, tidier module pages and much shorter loading times.

As of today, AlphaCloud looks different in the browser. We rebuilt pretty much everything you see of us there: alphacloud.bot, the panel, and Bugs, Ideas, Appeals and Transcripts too. Everything now follows one shared design instead of every page having its own style.

What changes for you

Light and dark. The website and the panel now come in a light and a dark mode. Until you pick one, the page follows your system; the switch sits in the header.

Tidier module pages. Every setting used to sit in one long list. Now settings that belong together live in their own cards side by side, fields sit in a grid, and the switch that turns a module on sits right next to Save.

Faster, especially on your phone. A panel page now loads about 0.4 MB of code instead of 2.7 MB. The dotted background also runs lighter on phones.

Real numbers in the overview. Your server's menu now shows how active AlphaCloud is there, which modules you use most and how members, channels and roles have developed over the last days.

Bugs and ideas. Bug reports are now a status board with columns for open, in progress, fixed and closed. On ideas you vote right in the list, the most popular ones are at the top.

Links with a preview. When you share a link to AlphaCloud in Discord, the preview now shows its own image and matching buttons, for example to invite the bot or to vote on an idea.

And who is the cloud?

That is Alfi, our new mascot. Alfi greets you at the login and shows up where you would otherwise see an empty page: an empty list, an error page or a maintenance screen.

Why we did it

The website and the panel grew apart over time. The panel was dark only, the website looked different, and some pages got cluttered on a phone. With Web v2, AlphaCloud feels the same everywhere, wherever you are.

With a rebuild this big, not everything will be perfect yet. If you spot something, report it on bugs.alphacloud.bot. And if you want to see it right away: panel.alphacloud.bot.
